Green Buttons: Click on a green button to go to the next step in the tool. Green buttons may have different labels like “Find Hospitals” or "Compare."
Menu Bar With Tabs: There are menu bars with tabs on many Hospital Compare pages. Menu bars with tabs can appear across the top of the page or down the left side of the page. Click on a tab to get more information on a particular topic.

Back Links: To go back to a previous page, click on a breadcrumb. Breadcrumbs are like a trail of page titles, for example, Medicare.gov > Hospital Compare Home > Hospital Results > Hospital Compare. You can also use the back button on your browser to get back to a previous page.
Starting Over: To start over and return to the Hospital Compare home page, use the 'Hospital Compare Home' link within the breadcrumbs. You can also use the 'Medicare.gov' link to return to the Medicare.gov website.
Help: If you need help, use the buttons below the green tabs. The "Help" tab has more information about navigating Hospital Compare. "For Consumers" has more information for patients and caregivers in easy-to-read format. "For Professionals" has more technical information for health care professionals, industry professionals, researchers, and others.
